The Citroen Dispatch has been declared joint winner at the WhatVan? 2018 Medium Van of the Year Award ceremony that took place in London on 13 December 2017. The award is shared with the Peugeot Expert and the Toyota Proace, as all three are built on the same platform, and only the external design differentiates them from each other, with the Dispatch having a shorter bonnet and headlamps fitted higher at the front. The Medium Van is the biggest selling and most competitive van market in the UK.
The Dispatch is available in three different body lengths, including a compact version at just 4.6m long, with a one tonne payload and large load space of 5.1m3, and also benefits from a much smaller turning circle, ideal for those wanting to use the vans in urban areas. The largest vehicle has a load space of 6.6m3. The vehicle can be fitted with either a 1.6 or 2.0 litre diesel engine and has Stop/Start technology which results in excellent fuel economy of 53.3mpg.
Especially impressive is the hands-free aspect of the van. The side sliding door can be controlled by foot from under the rear bumper, so long as the driver has the key in his possession. As the driver moves away the vehicle will also automatically close and lock, ensuring any tools in the van remain secure.
